3 years leading to CCT, based in either Oxford or Slough with additional placements in Reading, Aylesbury, Wycombe and other centres according to training requirements. There are currently 3 SpRs on the scheme, three based in Oxford, one in Slough and one jointly based in Broadmoor and Oxford (forensic psychotherapy trainee). There is one CBT trainee and five psychodynamic trainees. All trainees spend time in the DoH funded personality disorder services in the three counties
Applicants specialise in psychodynamic or cognitive behavioural psychotherapies and gain experience in all models including systemic. They participate in the senior on call rota. Competition ratios are currently (2006) roughly four applicants for each place.
