This programme is linked with the London groups based at Great Ormond Street, Brompton & Guy’s Hospitals. Current recommendations are for first two years in Oxford rotating to London Centres thereafter. Years at John Radcliffe Hospital (Soon to be Children’s Hospital Oxford on JR site) give exposure to all aspects of initial presentation, diagnosis and medical treatment and surgical treatment of congenital heart disease. Special expertise in Fetal Cardiology, Cardiomyopathy and Marfans syndrome, Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Interventional Cardiology. The department at the JR is also approved for training as “Paediatrician with an interest in Paediatric Cardiology”, its first ‘Graduate’ having gained a consultant appointment for March 2006. |
