There are 4 places on the scheme each year. The course will start with 2 years in a hospital rotation with linkage back to the training practice and ongoing support and appraisal by your GP trainer as well as the supervising consultant. There are well organised induction programmes in each department. We are planning to enable release back to the GP practices as part of study leave during the 3 years. 2002 will be the first year of the GPR's starting at the same time as career SHO's we feel this will greatly improve the induction and learning process.
