GPs with special interests
The Oxford Deanery welcomes the development of the roles of GPwSIs and PwSIs in the NHS, offering patients opportunities for specialist care within the community, and offering GPs opportunities for career development. We are already linking appointment of Senior Registrars to PCT local needs for GPwSIs, and we are working with PCTs and the University Department of Primary Care to develop training programmes for future GPwSIs. We are also developing a Deanery accreditation process for GPwSIs to support local PCTs with their appointments.
